Currently I work as a midwife in a public hospital and as a professor at the University of Jaén (Spain). Degree in nursing and midwifery. Master's degree in Research and Advances in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. PhD degree in 2012 from the University of Granada and the topic of my PhD research was the impact of prenatal education program on mother and newborn (Cum Laude). Expert University in Sexual and Reproductive Health. Member of the Consortium for Biomedical Research in Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP) and the group of Research, development and innovation in Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine and Surgery (CTS-435). Principal investigator of different research projects with competitive financing. Different stays in research centers in Portugal and Italy. Author of about 50 articles published in international journals. I have received several research awards. Participation in national and international congresses in different roles, as a scientific member committee, as communications author and as a speaker. Reviewer of articles for different international journal. Member of the Spanish Association of Midwives and the Spanish Society of Epidemiology. My main lines of research are health education and the promotion of health during pregnancy, childbirth and intimate partner violence during pregnancy.
